COOKIE
Cookie is a highly skilled Jack Russell Terrier specializing in bed bug detection. She outperformed in the selection process and trained diligently until testing and receiving her first certification in November 2022, earning her initial credentials through the World Detector Dog Organization (WDDO).
Since beginning active service in November 2022, Cookie has conducted hundreds of inspections across residential homes, multi-housing units, commercial facilities, and hospitality environments. She is certified with multiple handlers and has successfully passed WDDO recertification in 2023, 2024, and 2025, demonstrating exceptional consistency and reliability year after year.
Cookie’s agility and compact size allow her to work efficiently in both confined and open environments. Her disciplined search patterns, strong work ethic, and dependable alert behavior make her an exceptionally effective and trustworthy detection canine. HUNTER
Hunter is a highly energetic, spunky, and full-of-life Jack Russell Terrier known for his sharp focus, consistency, and dependable search performance. Beginning his journey in January 2023, Hunter trained diligently through an intensive program designed to develop strong odor recognition skills, confident search behavior, and reliable alert responses.
He graduated and earned his initial certification in October 2023, demonstrating strong aptitude and teamwork during testing. Since then, Hunter has successfully passed WDDO recertification in 2024 and 2025, confirming his continued accuracy, steadiness, and operational readiness.
Hunter has completed hundreds of inspections across residential homes, multi-housing communities, hospitality environments, and commercial facilities. His lively personality, methodical search patterns, and disciplined focus make him an exceptional working partner in both routine inspections and complex environments.

OREO
Oreo is an accomplished black-and-white Lab mix whose curious nature, enthusiasm for learning, and excitement for exploration have shaped him into an exceptional detection canine. His early development included comprehensive odor recognition work, structured search pattern conditioning, and progressive field exposure, forming a strong foundation for his effectiveness in operational environments.
Oreo graduated and achieved his initial certification in 2019, demonstrating precision, confidence, and strong team coordination during evaluation. He has since recertified with multiple handlers every year from 2020 - 2025, reflecting his adaptability and ongoing commitment to growth, performance, and reliability across diverse working conditions.
With hundreds of inspections completed throughout his career, Oreo has extensive experience in residential properties, multi-housing communities, commercial spaces, and hospitality environments. The K9 Advantage!
Scent Detection Dogs use a series of olfactory senses that can differentiate between micro particles that enter the nose. The scent is then broken down into specific identifiable particles which the dog can recognize as Target or Non-Target scent. Training and Discrimination is performed every day to keep the dogs focused on the specific Bed Bug Scent. This type of training teaches the dogs to disregard any scent that is not bed bugs. This repetitious process keeps the dog's skills on the Target insect's scent. There is no tool that is more agile or discriminating than a trained canine.
A dog's sensitivity to odor is 10 to 100 times greater than man's. The average dog has 200 to 250 million scent receptors in its nose compared to a human's 5 million. Dogs can detect the tiniest levels of odors, down to a few parts per billion; and can be trained to discriminate between 10 to 30 odors. Our dogs are only trained on the viable scent of bed bugs nothing else. In rigorous scientific tests conducted by entomologists at the University of Florida in Gainesville, properly trained dogs had a consistent 98% accuracy rate in detecting the presence of live bed bugs and their eggs in various environments.
